What's New & Upcoming Events
Laura: I am flying to Spokane,
Washington for my grandpa's 90th
birthday. I recently went to the San Francisco Gay Freedom Day parade. It was a lot of
fun.

Ben: I have been in a wheelchair for a long time and now my dad
is too. He has sugar diabetes and has lost a leg. Now he is a little bit like me. I am
trying to help him learn to cope with a disability.
Ruth: I got new shoes that help me walk. One has a thick
bottom.
Chad: Both of my parents died this year and that has made me
sad, especially when my mom died. They lived a long time and it was their time to go. I am
doing okay and am not giving up on my dream to get my own apartment.
Luis: My wheelchair is falling apart and I don't have Medi-Cal
because I am not a U.S. citizen. I don't have money to buy a new one.
Cindy: I am taking a plane ride to my aunt's house.
Joe: I am 35 years old and have lived with my parents all my
life. I am moving to a group home. I am excited!
| Kenny: I moved to the United States from Taiwan five years ago.
I like it here. I just graduated from high school.
Cynthia: I just got a new motor wheelchair. It is quiet as a
mouse. My life is doing okay. I don't have a boy friend now but I'm looking. They are hard
to find. |
James: I lost my brother a few months ago who was in a wheelchair too. It's hard. I'm trying to take care of my mother and father. I talk to them. I know I have to go on with my life. |
