Palsy Center for the Bay Area, Inc. |
CP Center staffer, Coco Liboiron recently interned at a two week training in Philadelphia. The ACES (Augmented Communicators Empowerment and Support) training was essentially a boot camp for individuals with disabilities who use electronic devices to communicate. The two week training program is the kickoff to a year-long training for ACES participants.
The training was sponsored by the Institute on Disabilities at Temple University. Augmented communicators learned how to more effectively communicate and received empowerment and self-determination training and learned about resources available to them so that they can develop a vision and a plan for their future.
The Cerebral Palsy Center has many augmented communicators and provides extensive training for them. If you would like to more information, please contact Coco at: coco@cpcoak.org
